And it's easy! It's called the Residential Exemption.
To be eligible, an owner must occupy their property as their principal residence as of January 1, 2010. And if you are not already receiving it, file a residential exemption form by March 30, 2011.
To check if you are already getting the exemption, go to the following link:

Type in your name to pull up your tax record and click details for info on your tax bill. Under the owner's mailing address you'll find if you are or are not receiving the exemption. If you are, you have nothing more to do.
If you are not receiving the exemption, go to the following link:
http://www.cityofboston.gov/assessing/Exemptions/resexempt.asp
It will give you directions on how to apply.
Remember, you have to file the residential exemption before March 30 to qualify.
